Inspired by the contrasts of Užupis and the personalities who lived there, we created the interior of the newly revived complex – Jonas Mekas Skersvėjus. The aim was to create spaces that combine the historical past and technology, Užupis frivolity and minimal modernity. In the quarter named after the pioneer of avant-garde cinema, around a well-known pedestrian alley, we created spaces for an art gallery, a museum of unique collector cars and residential apartments.

“Porsche Garage 9:11 is one of several interior spaces in the complex that we have paid special attention to. The challenge was to create an interior that is not just an empty backdrop, but rather a complementary environment that highlights the collector cars and adds value.

We used 3D scanning technology to design the interior spaces of the complex and applied the KNX smart home system. One of the challenges was to find unique materials that were also resistant and suitable for storing cars, so we left most of the walls exposed concrete. For furniture, doors and ceilings, we used natural materials.

The museum’s ceiling is made of stainless steel sheeting with intelligently controlled variable-spectrum lighting specially adapted to the exhibits, which highlights the specific colour of the car.
