3D scanning opens a wide range of possibilities for space reconstruction. This technology allows the measurement of complex spaces and surfaces, such as historic buildings. By scanning spaces, a very accurate model of the current situation can be obtained in a very short time, which is then integrated into the BIM model. Scanning allows one to capture the finest details and create a 3D model of the current situation or object. This saves time and prevents errors at later design stages.
We have successfully applied 3D scanning in the project of Laisvė Avenue in Kaunas city – we prepared a model of the whole building ~ 2250m2, which we later used to design the building adaptation.
